And it reminds me so much of I went through the first year of Abigail's life .... and how difficult it was to wrench myself out of the safety of denial. Feel free to read about it on http://alisonmullsitallover.blogspot.com/2008/09/her-delicate-face-was-plunked-before-my.html, I'm pretty sure you will pick up on amazing similarities!

Thank you for sharing such a moving story. I have found much comfort in the fact that our initial reactions were so similar, yet today our kids bring us such infinite happiness!

toodle pip
Alison in France
The Bernard BunchPrincess Abigailhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12462601473590517921noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1063435392724696415.post-29230234618903964882008-09-03T14:21:00.000-05:002008-09-03T14:21:00.000-05:00what a great, touching story Rachelle. God knew exactly what he was doing when dealing your cards, and knew what you would do with your hand. You are a great mom, who keeps it all together while my head spins as a bistander!!!! I am thankful to have met you and Joey!! We were lucky to have our diagnosis from day one, but my denial was that Baylee would be "mild". That's not how it turned out, but at least I've had a long time to ease into it! In any case...just look at you now! You are a great mom to Joey and it's an honor to know you!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1063435392724696415.post-90395375185614679612008-08-30T14:43:00.000-05:002008-08-30T14:43:00.000-05:00Although, these stories are hard, Joey has a uniqu...Although, these stories are hard, Joey has a unique and beautiful story. What a beautiful boy he is! I am so glad that there are other parents out there to talk with! I always look forward to hearing what Joey is up to:)Meganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15309122439842752944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1063435392724696415.post-53281968871011810512008-08-29T22:03:00.000-05:002008-08-29T22:03:00.000-05:00Thanks for sharing your story Rachelle. I don't think anything can prepare you for hearing the news that your baby has a syndrome...it definitely turns your world upside down...but our kids sure bring us a lot of joy!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1063435392724696415.post-76611599723326220332008-08-29T21:30:00.000-05:002008-08-29T21:30:00.000-05:00by too old above, i mean too old to wear a correct...by too old above, i mean too old to wear a corrective helmet.. :)Mistyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10001802750592065757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1063435392724696415.post-10969537431069439762008-08-29T21:28:00.000-05:002008-08-29T21:28:00.000-05:00that baby photo is so adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...that baby photo is so adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks for sharing your story. i really like to hear what other parents go through in their own pregnancies and there after. like heidi, we knew something was wrong before mason was born. however we were told that he had dandy walker syndrome and would die before, during or shortly after child birth, and although cdls was scary to us (we heard about it two weeks after he was born), we were relieved that he didn't have dandy walker syndrome....

about joey's head... we have been looking into having mason go to a craniofacial dr. because he has a flatspot, but were told he may be too old... did joey have a flat spot? we have been so worried about it, but dr.s don't seem to concerned. it is so hard to keep him off of his back... he is only now beginning to take an interest in sittiing and keeping his head up.. it is hard to know what to do and what to push for sometimes!

i think that joey is wonderful and love the hear about him.Mistyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10001802750592065757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1063435392724696415.post-77642856364702628532008-08-29T16:08:00.000-05:002008-08-29T16:08:00.000-05:00Thank you so much for telling your story. I had wondered how it would have been like if we didn't know about the differences ahead of time.

That is a super cute baby picture!!!

You're right that you can't turn back the clock. You have done great things for your son and I'm so glad he enjoyed swinging!

We went through a lot of the people saying that everything was going to be fine during my pregnancy. We knew they were wrong. It has been interesting watching our family members and friends come out of denial about our son.heidi @ ggiphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05245994200237421760noreply@blogger.com
